OVERVIEW
The very first edition of a tournament lacks history and lore. We created a unique and brutal trophy system to change that from day one.
For Esports World Cup, a 2-month-long tournament in Saudi Arabia, we developed a Trophy System unlike any other. Every team got a Key — something that would either complete the trophy at the end of the competition or be crushed by their opponents if they faced elimination.
This is a new esports ritual: staying glued to the screen after the games to see players crushing dreams - literally.
At first, we wanted to have a foundry to melt the Keys on stage — but production said it was impossible and too dangerous. Cowards. We decided then to go with a Hydraulic Press and give players the chance to operate it.

And if you're wondering if players liked it: these are their faces whenever they interacted with a piece of our trophy system.
From Neymar, to Faker, to Magnus Carlsen — EWC has many different esports disciplines, so everyone had the chance to enjoy a bit of soul crushing.

Not only a cool concept, but also a premium piece of design that everyone wanted to display on their trophy cabinet.
Crafted by the legendary Thomas Lyte in London, the 3-part trophy quickly became iconic — and the eternal Totem where players could carve their names became a must-see when in Riyadh.
